“Lactobacillus sporogenes” Aka Bacillus coagulans (same thing):
It’s a probiotic, and in addition to aiding digestion and elimination, this healthy bacteria is important for the absorption and production of certain nutrients, like B vitamins and vitamin K.
The world of probiotics can be confusing, and many people have trouble choosing the right one to supplement. When you’re choosing a probiotic, it will often contain many different strains, all of which may have different actions and purposes in the body. For example, some may be geared more towards triggering bowel movements (helpful for someone with constipation but not helpful for someone who’s stools are already loose).
This strain is actually a spore, and it works really fast. Germination of L. sporogenes takes place only 4 hours after ingestion, and this strain targets the small intestine (which is rare, as most target the large intestine, two completely different places in the body).
In the treatment of dysbiosis (unfavourable bacteria/yeast/viruses etc. in the gut), L. sporogenes was found to be 20-30% more effective than L. acidophilus or Bifidobacteria (other probiotic strains).
If inserted vaginally, L. sporogenes is useful in the treatment of vaginal infections like (ex. yeast). This is one of the best strains to compete with candida & mold.
All that, plus this one is completely dairy free!
Additional info: L. sporogenes is able to bind cholesterol in the gut, removing it from the body. Clinical studies found that supplementation with L. sporogenes decreased total serum cholesterol levels, with a slight increase in HDL levels.
It is a wonderful addition to any healing strategy, especially constipation/diarrhea, dysbiosis/IBS, infections, or during/following antibiotic treatment.
The ability to bypass stomach acid and bile, as well as a rapid rate of colonization and proliferation make L. sporogenes more effective at controlling infectious organisms in the intestines than other probiotic strains.
